Ellen Hermanos is from New York City and is educated in art history and social work. Psychology influences her creative process as she works creating rich layers, adding complexity and depth to colorful surfaces using brushes, palate knives and rollers. Blurred areas relate to stronger lined areas representing past and present experiences. Titles of her works are often derived from meaningful words people use to describe experiences. Her solo exhibitions include galleries and businesses in Boston and New York and group shows and installations everywhere from New Orleans to Connecticut since 2005. Her paintings have appeared on television and in motion pictures. She lives and works in Weston, Massachusetts with her family.
