Nancy Burgess builds the canvas with architectural elements made in wood and paper. Each work is meticulously sculpted and painted in oil to resemble the elements of reality, weathered woo and natural setting in shadow and light. They are set back into frames creating a relief and stage-set effect.
Historical homes, local Barnes and sugar shacks capture her imagination echoing the iconic architecture in the landscape of New England and Vermont. Nancy is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology where she studied painting and graphic design; her work is represented in American and European collections. Nancy lives in Vermont with her husband, cat and sweet dog named Perley.
